News Release

June 1st, 2004 Gill Pittar has now written seventy-eight Milly, Molly books. In what can only be described as a publishing phenomenon, the books—in three short years—have already been contracted to 101 different countries and are now being translated into 23 languages. Rights and/or distribution negotiations are underway in a further 20 countries, involving thirteen more languages.

The publishing company has inked a television and movie agreement with the Australia-based Beyond Group, a subsidiary agreement in Europe with a major producer, and—through their agents—are currently in discussion with a major multi-national Production/Distribution company.

Milly, Molly books are now distributed in the United States by the National Book Network (the largest independent distributor in the US) and in Canada by Fitzhenry & Whiteside (Canada’s largest children's publisher). Editorial Everest—the third largest publisher in the Spanish-speaking world—has purchased world Spanish and Portugese language rights. Everest received such an unprecedented international response to the first 32 books they released that they have moved their publishing schedule ahead by two years, and have contracted for a further thirty-two books. In Australia, Scholastic has had a similar response, exceeding Milly, Molly’s annual budget projections by 30% within six weeks of issuing the first books.
